SSSI

On the southern side of Kippendavie, is a steep ravine called Kippenrait Glen. This area is of interest to both geologists and ecologists, and contains a number of rare species of plant and insects. It is listed as both a SSSI and, more exceptionally, a European Special Area of Conservation. A path runs along the top of the Glen and joins with the Darn Road, at the junction of the Wharry Burn with the river Allan.

New planting, principally of hardwoods, further up the Wharry Burn will provide a wildlife corridor right up to Cauldhame, above Sheriffmuir.
